2、sis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, teaching methods and learning strategies, teaching key points and difficult points, teaching procedures, blackboard design and assessment. I.Analysis of the teaching material 1. Unit 7 would you mind turning down the music? is to make requests
3、and apologize politely. Such a topic is related to daily life, it s helpful to arouse students interests and improve their spoken English. 2. This unit is also related to Unit 11 Grade 8B Could you please clean your room? So this unit is to extend the knowledge about making requests politely. Thus,
4、besides “W ould you mind ”, I ll revise “ Could you please, Would you please” to train students speaking ability. In addition, to develop students listening ability, I will add an extra listening. 3. This period is the first one of unit 7. It has function which links the following periods. So it s v
5、ery important. It is a listening and speaking class to train students listening and speaking abilities. II.Teaching goals According to new standard and the level of the students, I make the teaching goals as the following: 1. Knowledge goals Students are able to master the new words and phrases such
6、 as not at all, yard, right away and so on. Students are able to use the key sentence structure: Would you mind doing or not doing sth.? Students are able to master their answers “No, not at all./ Sorry, I ll do it right away/in a minute./ Sorry, I won t do it again.”2. Ability goals Students are ab
7、le to understand the listening materials and dialogue. Students listening and speaking abilities are developed by listening and practicing the conversation. Students are able to use the knowledge in real life. 3. Emotional goals Students are able to be good at cooperating with others and be a polite

Students are able to make requests in a polite way. Difficulties: 1. How to catch the key words while listening.

IV.Analysis of the students Students in middle school are very active, they want to show themselves, but afraid of making mistakes, so I will pay atten
10、tion to design suitable tasks for them to arouse their interests. Also, the students have learned English for about one and a half years, they can understand many phrases and sentences, and they have mastered some basic knowledge about making requests politely, so it s easier for them to learn the n
11、ew sentence structure in this period. However, for the weak students, I need to set easier tasks and develop their self-confidence in English study. V.Teaching methods and learning strategies 1. Teaching methods Go for it emphasizes student-centered classroom, and the main aims of learning English i
12、n middle school is to train students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of English, so I ll use situation- teaching method and task-based teaching method, including audio-visual method, communicative method, cooperative method to arouse students interest and trai
13、n their speaking and cooperative abilities. That is to say, I ll give students some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: competition, guessing game, watching videos, acting out and practicing. 2. Learning strategies a. Students work in pairs and groups to learn the cooperative learning. b. St
14、udents pass “observation imitationpractice ” to study language.c. Students summarize the knowledge to learn induction learning. 3. Teaching aids Multi-media computer and a tape recorder are needed in my class. VI.Teaching procedures My teaching procedures can be divided into six parts. Step1. Warmin
15、g up (5 minutes) 1. Before the class, play light music for students. (The purpose is to relax the students and create a relaxing environment.) 2. Guessing game: show some pictures about chores and get students to guess them. (The purpose is to arouse students interests, get ready for the language in
16、put and train students sense of competition.) 3. By asking the students to clean the competition result on the bb to revise “could you please do or not do sth.? Ask students to use another sentence to show the same meaning of “Could you please do sth.? ”, then present “would you mind doing or not doing ? And guide students to answer “ No, not at all. /Sorry, Ill do it right away/in a minute.
18、 /I won t do it again.”(By changing the sentence to present the new knowledge, we can make students master the knowledge better, and know the difference between “Could you please ” and “W ould you mind ”, and master mind doing) 2. Show more pictures about chores and the school rules to the students.
19、 And let them make conversations and practice the structure in pairs. Then ask some to act out. (The purpose is to get students to make conversations by themselves and train students speaking ability. Also, remind the students that we should do some chores at home and obey the school rules.) Step3.
20、Listening (15 minutes) 1. Get students to read the sentences in 1a. and guide them how to catch the key words while listening. First, ask students to find out the key words in the sentences in 1a. Students will find the phrases after “mind” are the key words. Then get students to pay attention to th
21、ese key words while listening. Play the tape for them and finish 1b. 2. Using the same way to finish 2a and 2b. (I t s to train students listening ability and let them know how to catch the key words while listening.) 3. Extra listening: show the extra listening to the students, then play the tape a
