2、estions can be a real challenge for our students,but using the teaching materials on pages 4-8 and then manipulating the relatable images in this book can help make the concept less abstract.Whether students already grasp the concept of Christmas and wh-questions somewhat or not,this book will give
3、them some practice!In addition to answering questions,this book also prompts the reader to point to important aspects of the illustrations or act out actions-a fun&interactive part of this activity!When the book poses a question related to the pictures.(such as“Who is opening a gift?”students can gi
4、ve the answer verbally or children with limited verbal skills can physically“give”the answer by choosing the appropriate action from the 12 moveable answer choices(in picture form).The goal is to get the child to pair the picture with a verbal response.If he/she does not offer a verbal response,mode
5、l it for him/her.The repetitive nature of this book is likely to increase the chance of an appropriate response.Your modeling is key!The format discourages matching images but even if the child seems to just be matching pictures,your repetitive modeling can still drive the concept home!If you enjoy
