2、founded for its mountain which looks like an elephant.The whole county covers an area of 1,175 sq km including urban area of 16.7 sq km and has a population of 533 thousand including urban population of 156 thousand.The jurisdiction of Xiangshan County encompasses ten towns,five townships and eight

3、residential districts.In recent years,Xiangshan people develop and practice Xiangshan spirit,so the economy and the society are both improved steadily and the same with the comprehensive strength.Therefore,Xiangshan County ranked No.63 in the National strongest Economic counties in 2005.(There are m

4、ore than 2700 counties all over the country)Xiangshan County were ever honored with the national model county,the Chinese famous knitting city,the national ecology model district and the civilized county,the home of construction,the county of good education,the county of advanced culture in Zhejiang

5、 province.The textile,construction,sea traveling and seafood of Xaingshan has become a fine name card.There are three listed companies in Xiangshan.In 2006,Its GDP reached RMB 16.06 billion and a total financial income of RMB 1.77 billion,with the average income of urban inhabitants of 16,969 yuan a

6、nd fishermen of 7,736yuan Xiangshan has four distinguishing features.The first is the characteristics of the sea.Xiangshan is a coastal county with a sea area 5,335 sq km,a coastline of 800km,608 islands with 60-80 thousand people living on them.Xiangshan horbor in the north is a famous fishery ecol

7、ogical harbor and Shipu port in the south is 18km long,belonging to the six national central fishing port,where there are more than 1,500 steel fishing ships with strong horse-power.The area of seawater aquiculture of crab,laver and yellow craoker are expanded.The annual product of fishing and culti

9、iangshan is situated in Peninsula with picturesque scenery.The fine rate of air quality is 100%and forested rate is 57.5%.Xiangshan,which is on north latitude 29.3,closely to international golden travel line,on which are San Francisco and Hawaii of USA and Miami of Mexico,is one of the best places t

14、ion enterprises in Shanghai for years and the first list company in Ningbo.Xiangshan,which is also Chinese knitting well-known city,has more than 1000 knitting enterprises,with its output value taking the 40%of whole county industrial gross value.Its major products,such as T shirts,culture shirts et
