1、TPR Lesson Plan Rationale:This lesson will be directed towards Level 1 Spanish speakers.It will fit into the Kindergarten curriculum for mathematics,particularly Number Sense 1.2 Count,represent,name,and order a number of objects(up to 30).This activity will not cover the entire standard,but will he
2、lp students attain this goal.I am teaching this lesson to help my students reach their goal of counting to 30,by having them learn how to count to 10 first.(Counting to 10 is a baby step towards learning to count to 30.It forms the base for higher numbers.)Objectives:Students will be able to count t
3、o 10 and identify the individual numbers out of order(7,3,5,etc.)Students will learn the verbs contar(to count),tener(to have),tomar(to take),mostrar(to show),and repetir(to repeat).They will also learn the words corazn(heart),bueno(good),and bolsa(bag).Students will learn commands and how to identi
4、fy the numbers 1-10.As stated above,students will begin to master Number Sense 1.2 Count,represent,name,and order a number of objects(up to 30).Procedures:1.I will distribute a bag of 20 candy hearts to each person and tell them that they may keep their candy afterwards.2.I will begin my lesson with
5、 an introduction,“Hola!Ahora,contamos al numero 20.Cada bolsa tiene 20 corazones.”As I am introducing my lesson,I will be demonstrating what the words mean as I say them.I will count“1,2,3”after I say“contamos”,hold up the bag of candy hearts when I say cada bolsa,and move around the candy hearts wh
6、en I say tiene 20 corazones.3.I will begin my lesson,“Toma un corazon fuera de la bolsa.”I will be taking out 1 candy as I say this statement so that my students will follow along.I will repeat as necessary until everyone has 1 heart.4.Next,I will say,“Tengo un corazn.Repite.”I will hold up the 1 he
7、art as I say this statement.After I say repite,I will repeat it to them,holding up my 1 heart and pointing to myself.I will wait until they repeat this statement.5.Then,I will point to their heart and say“Tiene un corazn.Repite.”I will repeat as necessary until everyone has said this statement and t
8、hen say“Bueno.”6.After they have repeated the statement,I will tell them,“Toma todos los corazones fuera de la bolsa.”As I say this statement,I will empty out my bag of candy hearts so that they will copy me.7.Then,I will hold up 2 hearts and say,“Tengo uno,dos corazones.Repite.”I will repeat this s
9、tatement as necessary until everyone holds up 2 hearts and says“Tengo uno,dos,corazones.”8.I will follow this statement with the same as previously,“Tiene dos corazones.”I will point to their hearts as I say this to show that the hearts I am talking about are theirs.9.I will continue with this same
10、pattern as I add 1 heart each time.I will count as I add each heart to encourage them to practice counting.10.After they have all counted their hearts to 10,I will say,“Ahora,muestro el numero 5.”As I say this statement,I will count out 5 hearts and show them to my students.11.Afterwards,I will tell
11、 them,“Mustrame el numero 5.”I will circulate as am saying this so that I can check for understanding.12.I will continue with this statement until we have covered all the numbers 1-10 in random order.13.Then,I will say“Bueno.Todos estudiantes muy exelentes.Gracias por t attencin.”Evaluation:I will k
12、now if my students have met their objectives if they can follow my commands and hold up hearts when they are supposed to.I will also know if they are able to count to 10 if they are able to count them when they hold up 10 hearts.If my students are able to show me the correct number of hearts each time I ask for them,then I will know that they know their numbers,too.If they are able to meet all of those criteria,then I will know that they have met all of my objectives.
