5、e has just bought another garage in Pinhurst. Pinhurst is only five miles from Silbury, but Mr Scott cannot get a telephone for his new garage, so he has just bought twelve pigeons. Yesterday, a pigeon carried the first message from Pinhurst to Silbury. The bird covered the distance in three minutes

6、. Up to now, Mr Scott has sent a great many requests for spare parts and other urgent messages from one garage to the other. Two men took the parcel off the plane and carried it into the Customs House. While two detectives were kee

10、ping guard at the door, two others opened the parcel. To their surprise, the precious parcel was full of stones and sand!Lesson 8 The best and the worst 最好的和最差的Joe Sanders has the most beautiful garden in our town. Nearly everybody enters for The Nicest Garden Competition each year, but Joe wins eve

11、ry time. Bill Friths garden is larger than Joes. Bill works harder than Joe and grows more flowers and vegetables, but Joes garden is more interesting. He has made neat paths and has built a wooden bridge over a pool. I like gardens too, but I do not like hard work. Every year I enter for the garden

12、 competition too, and I always win a little prize for the worst garden in the town!Lesson 9 A cold welcome 冷遇On Wednesday evening, we went to the Town Hall. It was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the Town Hall clock. It would strike twelve in twenty minutes ti

13、me. Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped. The big minute hand did not move. We waited and waited, but nothing happened. Suddenly someone shouted, Its two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped! I looked at my watch. It was true. The big clock refused to welcome t

16、n deserves another 礼尚往来I was having dinner at a restaurant when Harry Steele came in. Harry worked in a lawyers office years ago, but he is now working at a bank. He gets a good salary, but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back. Harry saw me and came and sat at the same tab

17、le. He has never borrowed money from me. While he was eating, I asked him to lend me &2. To my surprise, he gave me the money immediately. I have never borrowed any money from you, Harry said, so now you can pay for my dinner!Lesson 12 Goodbye and good luck 再见，一路顺风Our ncighbour, Captain Charles Alis

It is always the same on these occasions.Lesson 14 Do you speak English? 你会讲英语吗？I had an amusing experience last year. After I had left a small village in the south of France, I drove on to the next town.

22、On the way, a young man waved to me. I stopped and he asked me for a lift. As soon as he had got into the car, I said good morning to him in French and he replied in the same language. Apart from a few words, I do not know any French at all. Neither of us spoke during the journey. I had nearly reach

23、ed the town, when the young man suddenly said, very slowly, Do you speak English? As I soon learnt, he was English himself!Lesson 15 Good news 佳音 The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworth would see me. I felt very nervous when. I went into his office. He did not look up from his desk when I entered.

44、额 857.87万元（5）年平均利税总额 950.6万元（6）投资利润率 17.26%（7）投资利税率 19.13%（8）内部收益率 14.30%（9）客源预测量 2005年8.43万人 2010年13.58万人（10）占地面积 20公顷 12 项目区背景及建设的必要性1、吉木萨尔县有关情况吉木萨尔县隶属新疆昌吉回族自治州，地处天山山脉北麓，东邻奇台县，西与阜康市相毗连。与新疆首府乌鲁木齐相距159公里，有公路相通，交通十分便利。吉木萨尔县境土地面积为1.12万Km2，人口13万余人，主要有维、回、汉、哈等民族，境内自然条件优越，水源充沛，土地肥沃，牧草丰茂，物产丰富。2000年全县国内生产总

45、值2.99亿元，“十五”末期规划达到6.81亿元。该县历史悠久，人文荟萃，山川秀丽，景色优美，古迹遍布，是闻名中外的古丝绸之路北道重镇，拥有丰富多彩的旅游资源。随着我国旅游业的兴起和西部大开发的实施，新疆自治区、昌吉自治州及吉木萨尔县都把发展旅游业作为本地区优先发展的产业，制定和完善了相关的优惠政策，在人力、物力、财力上予以倾斜，吉木萨尔县编制的“十五”计划远景目标规划纲要明确提出把旅游业作为重点发展的行业，给予了高度的重视和支持，这对于本项目的开发和实施提供了可靠的保障。2、温泉井开发现状吉木萨尔温泉井是新疆石油管理局1982年为探查该区石油蕴藏情况钻探的预探井（也称沙南一号井），碰巧打到高

46、压持水地层，成为自喷高温矿泉井，1985年移交给吉木萨尔地方所有，同时对其在治疗方面进行了初步开发应用，在该井附近建设了简陋的浴疗设施，到目前为止已吸引了周围青河、富蕴、吉木萨尔、奇台、阜康、昌吉、米泉、乌鲁木齐等地及准东油田的游客，前往进行浴疗和洗浴，累计接待人数在万人次以上，对神经系统功能障碍、风湿性关节炎、骨折关节僵硬、肌肉瘫痪、动脉硬化、脑溢血后遗症、半身不遂、皮肤病等有显著疗效。同时对消除疲劳、增强体质、保健美容也有明显作用。由于资金不足，目前功能单一，设施简陋，远不能满足游客的要求，致使丰富质优的地热资源没有得到很好的开发和利用，新疆天山天池旅游股份有限公司经与吉木萨尔协商，决定投

47、资全面开发这一旅游资源，委托新疆国际工程咨询公司编制该项目的可行性研究报告。3、项目区气候及相关情况该温泉所在区域地处准噶尔盆地东北部，受天山北麓东段与卡拉麦里山南麓相夹，属吉木萨尔县五彩湾地区，地势平缓，井位海拔高度474.57米，区域气候属大陆性中温带干旱型气候，年平均气温5，年降水量170毫米左右，年蒸发量2000毫米左右，年平均日照2900小时左右，年平均无霜期170天。该区域所在的五彩湾地区自然风景奇特，自然景观众多，因此该温泉所处的五彩湾地区也被称作神秘的“五彩城”。区域内不但有五彩城、呜沙山、化石沟等自然旅游景观，而且有国家重点保护动物普氏野马、野驴、黄羊等。随着区域内准东油田的

48、大规模勘探开发和横贯该区的新216国道的开通，人们才有机会一睹其神秘的自然景观。区域内还具有丰富的自然矿产资源，主要有褐煤、土盐、丝光沸石、芒硝、钠基膨润土、珍珠岩、高岭土和金矿等。其中褐煤、珍珠岩和叶腊石尚未进行开发，其它矿产也只进行了初步开发工作。区域内除准东油田采油工业外，无其它工业。区内土壤为荒漠草甸盐碱土，植被属荒漠植被，以芨芨草和枇杷柴为主。井点方园十公里内无居民点。也无农业土地开发。其温泉水需经脱盐处理后方可饮用，目前温泉治疗院生活饮用水尚需从十公里以外拉水。其供电延用准东油田探井电网。该区域周边地区的北部和东部地区工业不发达，基本以农牧业为主，但南部地区随着准东油田的大规模勘探和开采，以及吐乌大高等级公路的开通，其经济和社会发展速度较快，已形成包括米泉市、阜康市、吉木萨尔县和奇台县在内的延天山经济增长带。该经济增长带内阜康是全国著名的自然风景区。中外驰名的天池旅游区距温泉约160公里。吉木萨尔县境内有唐代北庭大都护府遗址、北庭高昌回鹘佛寺壁画、车师古道及丝绸古道等古文化旅游景点。4、项目建设的必要性旅游业是一项经济效益高、低污染、高速度，可持续发展的新兴行业，具有强大的生命力和发展前景，是本世发展最快的产业之一
