1、Online GamesLiving in a fast moving earth,an increasing number of people feel the press form all around.Thus the online games emerged as the times required.Game players can become anyone or evenanything they want to and talk,play,love in the virtual world.Besides,the most attractive elementof the on

2、line games is that players no longer play with the dull computers but to play with realplayers on the other lines.In recent years,online games expand rapidly and enjoy booming now.However,what we must say is that online games bring us fun and relax.But everything seems tobe a double-edged sword.Youn

3、g people lack of self-control may be addicted to them and neglecttheir study and works in the real world.The first network game came into being in 1969 named SpaceWar which supported twopeoples long-distance connection.In the following 8 years,more online games appared.But theycouldt continue once t

4、he games were restarted.People called them the first generantion ofnetwork game.So far,network games have experienced four periods.From 1978 to 1995,some onlinegames with sustainability were produced.And in 1996,with the appearance of the game calledMeridian 59,network games developed into the perio

5、d ofMassive multiplayer onlinegame(MMOG)including MMORPG,MMOFPS,MMORTS,MMORG and so on,which are still hotin comtemporary society.At last,from the year 2006,anther kind of games called webgames drawpeoples attention,which has been a new branch of network games.There are all kinds of online games,man

6、y ofthem are unique,though most of them can besorted into three branches as follow:MMORPGA massively multiplayer online role-playing game(MMORPG)is a genre of computerrole-playing games(CRPGs)in which a large number of players interact with one another in avirtual world.As in all RPGs,players assume

7、 the role of a fictional character(often in a fantasy world),3 andtake control over many of that characters actions.4 MMORPGs are distinguished fromsingle-player or small multi-player CRPGs by the number of players,and by the games persistentworld,usually hosted by the games publisher,which continue

8、s to exist and evolve while theplayer is away from the game.MMOFPSMassively multiplayer online first-person shooter(MMOFPS)is a sub-category of the massivelymultiplayer online game(MMOG)video game genre,which combines first-person shooter-stylegameplay with the game design elements that typify the M

9、MOG genre;namely,a persistent worldpopulated by a large number of concurrent players,and in-depth player character progressionmechanics.12 Whereas most MMOGs typically feature relatively slow-paced,turn-basedcombat,an MMOFPS requires a high degree of hand-eye coordination and twitch-based skills.MMO

10、RTSMassively multiplayer online real-time strategy(MMORTS)is a genre of online video games,combining real-time strategy(RTS)with a large number of simultaneous players over the Internet.Players often assume the role of a general,king or other type of figurehead,leading an army intobattle,while maint

11、aining the resources needed for such warfare.The titles are often based in asci-fi or fantasy universe and distinguished from single or small-scale multiplayer RTSes by thenumber of players and common use of a persistent world,generally hosted by the games publisher,which continues to evolve even wh

12、en the player is not currently playing.In the new millennium,more and more computers with broadband set their foot on the the big and also small cities.Meanwhile,Kids trend to pay more attention on spending their spare time playing web games.It seems that the virtual world,which makes them heros,pri

13、nces or princesses haswon the first round as soon as they put their hands on the keyboard.Overwhelingly,Being able to do amount of things which are hardly came true in the real-life has been a strong attraction to the resistless spirits.Obviously,there exists no more than excitement,but also feeling

14、s of satisfaction at having achieved your desires.However,we have to realize that no other man could get rid of the real world and just do their own interest without the support of the surroundings.We are also supposed to believe that the satisfaction from the virtual world never satisfides any one

15、who cares them.Most people hold a view that one may not deal with his or her school work well if he or sheplay online games.However,every coin has two sides.There also exists instructive meaning in thegames.In view of the burden from heavy school work,playing online games is helpful at times weexpec

16、t a rest.We could charge our batteries in the fictitious world,and then back to work with fullenergy.Again the games teach and give us a lot.We can not only make a number of friends andgrant our wishes but also be a hero or commander.Do what we want and enjoy the feast in theworld full of wonder.Bes

17、ides,they offer us a chance to gain intelligence as we are urged to thinkheavily during playing.If regarded from other point of view and treated fairly,online games servea useful purpose and have a value on the whole.Finely designed online games tend to attract more players.Meanwhile,the industry wi
