I placed the light slightly higher and to the right of the frame, giving some shadow, while the large and dif used light source produced subtle and soft transitions. The large Profoto
20、Deep White Umbrella is one of my go-to modifiers whenever I want soft light. It is easy to setup, the depth allows me to control directionality, and it creates an extremely soft, beautiful and even light. Plus, the dif usion in the front makes the light even softer, making the modifier behave more l
21、ike a softbox. For this shoot, the dif usion also cut down on specularity, which was key because I didnt want the paint to look too shiny. I also added a white reflector opposite the umbrella to bounce a little bit of light back into the shadows, making them even subtler. Since the shot is bright an
22、d upbeat, lighter shadows work with the concept. This lighting style is a departure from my typical approach, which tends to be more serious and dramatic. I loved that on this creative play day I could experiment with something more whimsical and upbeat, and that I could go a bit outside my comfort
