1、So many women that I talk to tell me that they gravitate towards careers or positions that they know theyre going to be great in, that they know theyre going to be perfect in. And its no wonder why. Most girls are taught to avoid failure and risk. To smile pretty, play it safe, get all As. Boys, on

2、the other hand, are taught to play rough, swing high, crawl to the top of the monkey bars and then jump off head first. By the time theyre adults and whether theyre negotiating a raise or even asking someone out on a date, men are habituated to take risk after risk. Theyre rewarded for it. Its often

3、 said in Silicon Valley that no one even takes you seriously unless youve had two failed startups. In other words, were raising our girls to be perfect and were raising our boys to be brave. Some people worry about our federal deficit. But I worry about our bravery deficit. Our economy, our society,

4、 were losing out because were not raising our girls to be brave.
