3、thehereditarytitleandindustry(Newtreemonasteryisitsmansion)fellonhim,becameLordByronsixth.In1801,inordertomatchthestatusandidentityofByronsnobility,thefamilydecidedtosendhimtoaprestigiousschool-Harrowschool.Thisschool,foundedbyJohnRyanin1571,hascultivatedmanywell-knownfiguresinthehistoryofEngland,wh
4、erePrimeMinisterChurchill,whoworshipedByron,wasthegraduateoftheschool.AftergraduatingfromHarlem,1805-1988studiedliteratureandhistoryatCambridgeUniversity.Hewasahard-workingstudentandrarelystudiedclasses.HereadextensivelyinEuropeanandEnglishliterature,philosophyandhistory,andalsoengagedinshooting,gam
5、bling,Drinking,hunting,swimming,boxingandotheractivities.InMarch1909,heenteredthearistocracyasahereditaryaristocrat,whereheattendedtheHouseandspokenotmuch,butthesestatementsclearlyexpressedByronsprogressivepositionofliberalism.AftergraduatingfromCambridgeUniversity,heservedasamemberoftheHouseofLords
6、.Thestudentageisdeeplyinfluencedbyenlightenmentthought.1809-1811traveltoSpain,Greece,Turkeyandothercountries,bythepeopleofanti-aggression,anti-oppressionstruggleinspiredbythecreationofChildeHaroldsPilgrimage(ChildeHaroldsPilgrimage,1809-1818).TherepresentativeworksareChaldeHaroldTravelsDonJuan(DonJu
7、an,1818-1823)andsoon.InhispoetrytoshapeanumberofByronhero.Byronisnotonlyagreatpoet,butalsoawarriorwhofoughtforanideallife;heactivelyandbravelyjoinedtherevolution,participatedintheGreeknationalliberationmovement,andbecameoneoftheleaders.From1809to1811,Byrontraveledabroadforthepurposeoflookingathumans
8、,notjustreadingthemonbooks,andinordertoremoveanislanderwithanarrowprejudicetokeepthehouseharmfulasaresultof.June26,1809,lefttheUnitedKingdom,totheEast(SouthernandWestAsia)travel.Inthenextsixmonths,thefirstboattoLisbon,Portugal;andthenridetothesouthofSpain,SevillaandCdiz,bySardinia,Sicily,MaltatoAlba
9、nia,wheretherulersofAliPaSummer;December25arrivedintheGreekcityofAthens.Byrontraveledabroad,enjoyingthenaturalscenery,observingthesociallifeandpoliticalsystemofthecountry,andreachingouttoallwalksoflife.HesawtheSpanishguerrillaswhohaddealtaheavyblowtotheFrenchinvaders,andsawtheGreekpeoplewhoweregathe
10、redtofighttheliberationstruggleundertheTurkishcavalryravages,whichalsoinspiredhisstronginterestinthecultureofsouthernEuropeanpeoples.Thesehavehadasignificantimpactonhisthoughtsandcreations.InAlbaniabegantowriteChildeHaroldTravels.ThefirstandsecondchaptersofChandlerHaraldsTravelscameoutinFebruary1812
11、,sparklingtheliteraryworld,makingByronastarinLondonssocialworld.However,thisdidnotmakehimcompromisewiththeBritisharistocraticbourgeoisie.Heknewfromtheearlyyearsthatthesocietyanditsrulingclasswerestubborn,hypocritical,evilandprejudiced,andhispoemhadbeenaprotestagainstallthis.1811-1816,Byronhasbeenliv
12、inginacontinuousemotionalvortex.Inhispopularsociallifeeverywhere,theloveoftheplayisthatayoungaristocraticpoetsromanticaffairnaturallymoretalkedabout.Byronin1813toMissAnnaMilbak,andinJanuary1815andshemarried.ThisisthegreatestmistakecastinByronslife.LadyByronwasamanwhohadanarrowviewofthehypocrisyofhis
